Wildlife on the Walls
The taxidermy at Vivio's is part of the building's character — a nod to the hunting and fishing traditions that have always been part of life in Northern Michigan.

White-Tailed Deer
The most common large mammal in the region, whitetails range throughout Michigan and are well adapted to the forests around Indian River. Bucks can reach 225 pounds.

Bobcat
The Bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a resilient North American wildcat found from Canada to Mexico. A skilled, solitary hunter, it thrives in forests, swamps, deserts, and urban edges

Moose
The largest member of the deer family found in Michigan, moose inhabit the Upper Peninsula and the northernmost stretches of the Lower Peninsula near Indian River.

Beaver
The beaver is a large semi-aquatic rodent known for building dams and lodges. An excellent swimmer, it helps shape wetlands and uses its tail to warn others of danger.

Mallard Duck
The Mallard is the world’s most recognizable duck, found across wetlands worldwide. Known for the male’s green head, it thrives in ponds, rivers, and marshes, feeding on plants and small animals.

Red Fox
The Red Fox is a highly adaptable carnivore found across much of the world. Known for its reddish coat, bushy tail, and agility, it is a fast, clever hunter that thrives in diverse habitats.

Rock Bass
Rock bass are hardy freshwater fish native to North America, commonly found in rocky lake shallows. Popular with anglers, they are aggressive fighters that feed on insects, crayfish, and small fish.
